Itinerary
Arrive in Paro and visit Rinpung Dzong, National Museum, and Kyichu Lhakhang. Drive to Thimphu (1 hour) to explore Buddha Dordenma, Memorial Chorten, and traditional arts institutes. Travel to Punakha via Dochula Pass to visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang.
Drive eastward via Pele La Pass into central Bhutan. Stop for photos and local crafts along the way. In Trongsa, visit the grand Trongsa Dzong, historically linked to Bhutan’s monarchy.
Enter the spiritual heart of Bhutan. Visit Jakar Dzong, the spiritual Kurjey Lhakhang, and Tamshing Lhakhang, known for its ancient murals and blessings.
Cross the dramatic Thrumshing La Pass into Eastern Bhutan. Arrive in Mongar and explore the vibrant, culturally rich Mongar Dzong.
Travel through lush forests and rice fields to Trashigang. Stop to visit Drametse Lhakhang, home of Bhutan’s sacred mask dance (Drametse Nga Cham).
Journey into the highlands to meet the Brokpa people, semi-nomadic yak herders. Stay in a local homestay and experience their distinct dialect, attire, and lifestyle.
Drive to Yonphula Airport and take a short scenic flight back to Paro. Free time in Paro to relax or explore.
Trek to the majestic Taktsang Monastery and enjoy its spiritual ambiance and sweeping views.
Enjoy a hot stone bath, dine in a local farmhouse, and join traditional cooking or butter-lamp offering sessions
