We recently returned from a 3 week holiday in Bhutan organised directly with Himalayan Marvels and we had an amazing experience. The owner, the guide and the drivers could not do enough for us and we left feeling like we had made good friends. We were a group of 3 who wanted to include trekking and cultural activities with a few shopping stops thrown in. Our guide Pema was brilliant at making sure we ticked everything off our wish list, which got longer with his input, including getting us invited to the dress rehearsal of a festival when our schedule meant we could not make the actual event. We had 2 nights where we stayed in the homes of Bhutanese farming families, and Pema even helped with the cooking of fresh organic ingredients from the farms themselves. We learned so much about Bhutan, it’s culture, the central role of Buddhism, and how Gross National Happiness is part of the way of life there. It was a life changing experience, and Himalayan Marvels made it particularly special. Thanks to Bivatsu, Pema, Thukten, Sagar and our home stay hosts. We would highly recommend Himalayan Marvels to anyone planning a trip in this region.
